Alleluia...

I got home from school and my mom suprised me with an insurance letter.... I HAVE BEEN ACCEPTED and COVERED for my surgery!!!!!!! No fight, no long angry phone calls, nothing! Yay. My O.S. said with my insurance it would probably take a long fight and persuasion to prove that it was not just cosmetic, but indeed medical. I am so happy. I will not have to postpone my surgery date or anything. Wow, what a weight lifted off of me (and my parents who would of had to pay.). I also realize there has been an absence of pictures on my blog recently, so here is a pic of my ever-moving teeth. I can see a huuuuuuuge improvement of my top teeth and their widening, and the shifting of my midlines. I am just so glad that all is going well. I hope you have a fabulous Christmas! :)

  2. Hi Makay,

I came across your blog while researching for the jaw surgery that I'm having monday. I think we pretty much have the same bite! I was wondering if you had AIM so we could chat or you could email me at kawilliams15@yahoo.com
It would help talking to someone who is going through the same thing as me and I could let you know how the whole process is...I will definitely be bored laying around all day after surgery. So im me at mynameiskellyyyy or email me!

    Thanks, Kelly :)

  3. Hi Kelly-
Wow! Surgery on monday? That is soon. What are you having done? I would love to answer any questions and would be interested in seeing a pic of your bite since it is like mine. Do you have an ortho-blog? If you don't you really should think of putting one up. It is free and I would definitely follow. :) It is a good way to post pics for family and to allow others to see your journey. For security reasons I do not email from my blog, however feel free to post comments to my blog I will answer and love to hear how your jaw progress it going. It is soooo cool to meet others that are going through the same thing as me. I love comments and questions so post away! :)

  4. I don't know the formal name of the surgery I had done but I just had my lower jaw moved back and the OS narrowed my lower jaw by splitting it in the middle and closing it a tad.

I have always thought about doing a blog but then I become too lazy or forgetful haha. And I would be so embarrassed to post any pictures although I becoming more accustomed to it with my dad taking pictures of the progress. But I will definitely consider it.

So I will cover my experience.
You know what? I'm going to sign up for one right now! After looking at all of the jaw surgery blogs that have helped me, I figure I could make one myself!

    We will keep in touch!

  5. Kelly-
Yes, I don't know the exact terms for my surgery either, but I am getting my bottom jaw moved back and centered. My top jaw moved forward and bone grafts on the top jaw as well.
And YAY create a blog!!!! I would love to see before and afters, not to mention your original bite. As soon as you finish creating just follow my blog and I will be able to find yours! So cool! Merry Christmas. And I hope you are recovering well. Best of luck! :)
