Just a "gaze", a normal look throughout the day... ha.

Worth a celebration? At least a virtual one? I think so! haha.

Sooooo here is a video of my "transformation"...

So what do you think about my transformation thus far?

Any questions for me to answer?

I hope I still have followers... haha.

  7. You look more...finished...now I think. Elegant, and womanly. Some of that might be just growing up, but whatever the reason you look great and confident.

  10. Hey M.A!

Yeah... the O.R. is still crisp in my mind... all the way to the part where I blacked... and woke up.

I went bright and early [woke up at 4am] got there pretty early... then had to wait and fill out paperwork and sign some forms- then they gave me a robe to change into and a hairnet, circulation stockings, socks, and that is ALL! ha. Then my doc came in and showed me my mold and explained what they were doing to a tee... and then the anesthesiologist came in and put some "happy drugs" in my IV... then the next thing I remember is Dr. Politano saying, "Alright Kyla, when you get back to the O.R. we are all going to have on caps and masks, so don't worry- but I will be the only one with a UNC cap on... I was wheeled back... shivering (I remember it was cold) and then I got in the O.R. and saw Dr. P immediately, he winked at me- and then I blacked. ha. The next thing I remember is waking up with a fat face and sore throat... ha, oh, and my mamasita was trying to hook up Dr. P with one of the single nurses... HAHA. It was a great way to wake up... ;) trust me.

I went in like 5 times before- first for him to meet and diagnose me, second to see my progress with braces and give a time frame for surgery, third was to solidify the date and get measurements and decide the procedure, the 4th was pre-op (pics, molds, etc), and then the day before I came back to see apprx pictures after the surgery was digitally performed... ha. :)

After surgery it has been quite often, day of, day after, day after the day after, 1 week, 2 weeks later, 3 weeks later, 6 weeks later, and my last one will be 1 year later unless I have problems which isn't expected.

When is your surgery? Do you have a blog? would you happen to be the woman I met in the office the other day? haha. :)

    Love, Makay

  12. Hi Makay, (:
I'm Beth, 19 and from the UK - just started my own blog to keep track of my treatment for an underbite. It has like... 2 posts! Ha.
Been reading through your blog and I am amazed at your results! You look great :D It makes me want time to just fly by so I can get my surgery!
Couple of questions - how long was your hospital stay and did you have surgery performed on both jaws?
Please write back at some point, I hope I am not too late as this post was back in 2010!
    Thanks - Beth (: x
